In a recent statement, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia made it clear that the responsibility for ticket refunds for the abandoned India-South Africa T20I in Lucknow does not lie with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Instead, the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) will oversee the process of reimbursing spectators for the match that was called off due to dense fog and poor visibility. Saikia emphasized the unforeseeable nature of winter weather conditions, describing this incident as an exceptional circumstance despite BCCI's continuous efforts to reschedule domestic games. It is reassuring to see the cricketing authorities taking accountability and ensuring that spectators are not left inconvenienced due to factors beyond anyone's control.
